I had a friend ask me to give him a quick bass/guitar lesson this past weekend. I was amazed at the lack of songs that I 'know' because I am a typical classically trained clarinetist who likes to read music from the page. I'm sort of a one trick pony.
So, I went to school, pillaged all of the rock books, and brought home a bunch of fun songs to practice this vacation. It's amazing that after 3 months of teaching high school guitar, I am feeling more and more like a rock star when I play. As I flipped through the book, I didn't know... how much I know! Way to go, Ms. Music Teacher.
