We decided to go strawberry picking in Charlotte this past weekend, and on our drive we passed the Shelburne Vineyard.... So we stopped. It was a lazy sunny Sunday, and we had all the time in the world. It was a beautiful place - kind of set up to attract the leef peeper kind of clientelle. Tasting was only $2 a person and the servings were decent. They handed out a little cheat sheet so that we could keep track. Jim and I both liked their Cayuga White, and the Lakeview White. We NEVER buy or drink whites, so this was quite the occasion! Their reds didn't quite impress. The Vermont Nocturne Late Harvest was pretty good. They seemed to purchase a lot of their grapes from out of town. We ended up buying the Lakeview White. Then we decided we were on a role... so we went to the Charlotte Village Winery.
It was much more laid back and rural, and smaller. The servings were small tastes, but they were free and we could go back and 're'sample. The girl was really friendly, and we loved all of their berry infused wines. We bought one of the Blueberry Reds, and yesterday I bought the Blueberry dessert wine at the Bevy.
While we were on route 7... We drove down to the Lincoln Peak Vineyard.
There were other people there, and we ended up waiting around a lot for OLDer folks to do their thing, but overall we liked most of their wines. Their dessert wine Silk was to die for - if only it wasn't $35 a bottle. We ended up buying their La Crescent wine, but would have loved to get the La Crescent Late Harvest (sweeter and more syrup like) but it was a smaller bottle.
So it was a WONDERFUL afternoon and we got to see more of Vermont. Photos are at the Lincoln Peak Vineyard.

I love your wavy hair in that last pic (and Jim looks drunk in the second-to-last one :p).

Did you decide which evening you guys are going to the Brew Fest? Chris, Kristin, and I are going Saturday night -- hopefully we'll see you :)

Haha, I promise Jim's not drunk, but it's a funny photo, huh?
