Yesterday I was standing in the hallway at school during passing time, saying hi to students. One of my 6th graders from the first quarter stopped to say that her private piano teacher said hi to me (we went to college together). This student was a straight A, exceeds the expectations quiet student. I asked the student how her new class, tech ed, was going. She said it was 'great'! with so much enthusiasm. I thanked her for stopping to say hi, and she started to walk away.
THEN she turned around quickly and said, "I miss you", with a high inflection on the miss. I said, "I miss you too, have a great day!"
And I just walked away smiling.
