I am a music teacher. It's official. After burning bridges with people who meant a lot to me, after two years of retail instead of teaching, after two years of applications and interviews and buying interview clothing and resume paper and photocopying and WISHING, I AM A MUSIC TEACHER.
I went to Hunt tonight to see the band concert and everybody was incredible. People came up to me to introduce themsleves, the music faculty gave me tours of the building, and the best of all, we went to one of their homes for a drink afterwords. I felt so welcomed and so part of a community - this is what I've imagined since I went home after first semester of college and said, "mom, dad, I think I want to be a music teacher!"
It's here, it's now.
It's me.
